Just Be Here: 4 Reasons to Live in the Moment
A few friendly reminders of the power of living in the moment–inspired by a friend.
This post was inspired by
’s post yesterday, which you can read right here:You don’t have to solve your whole life today.
Honestly, if you’re trying to figure it all out at once, good luck with that.
Life’s kind of messy, and applying pressure to find all the answers right now is just setting yourself up for a headache.
Take a breather. You’ve got time.
You don’t have to predict every outcome.
And let’s be real: you’re not a psychic, or a criminal investigator. (I mean unless you are, which in that case pretend you aren’t for a second.)
So stop acting like you need to foresee every possible scenario.
Life at it’s core is unpredictable, which is what makes it interesting (and sometimes a complete circus.)
Just ride it out; you’ll navigate things as they come.
You don’t have to carry tomorrow’s worries before they arrive.
Seriously, putting that heavy backpack on today for a trip that’s not even happening is a recipe for burnout.
Focus on the present.
Today’s the only thing you actually have control over, and it’s a lot easier to manage without all that extra baggage.
How do you better focus on the present? Let us know in the comments:
Just be here, right now.
It’s amazing how much we overlook in the present while fretting about an uncertain future.
So, why not kick back and actually be in the moment?
Smell the coffee, enjoy the view, or just take a random stroll with the kids to the park.
Life unfolds with these little bits. Don’t rush it. Just take things as they come, at your own pace. You’ll be surprised by how much you can handle without that sense of urgency.
Take each day one breath, one moment, one conversation at a time.
